Call for Papers
Hyvolution Canada 2025 invites hydrogen experts and innovators to submit conference proposals for its first edition, taking place October 1–2, 2025, at the CECI in Trois-Rivières, Québec. This major international event will bring together the entire hydrogen ecosystem—industry, research, public authorities, and end users—for two days to showcase the latest technological advancements and industrial applications shaping the future of hydrogen energy.
We are looking for impactful, insightful, and accessible presentations that reflect innovation and current industry trends. This is your opportunity to share your expertise, inspire the community, and play an active role in the energy transition.
Key Themes and Trends for 2025
Hyvolution Canada covers the entire hydrogen value chain, from production to end uses in mobility, energy, and industry. A broad range of topics is eligible, and we also encourage submissions on emerging innovative themes, including but not limited to:
- Hydrogen in Aviation and Aerospace – Advances and challenges for hydrogen-powered aviation, hydrogen aircraft projects, airport infrastructure needs, and certification issues.
- Certification, Traceability, and Standards – Ensuring the origin and quality of hydrogen (green hydrogen certificates, traceability tools, international safety standards, and industry best practices).
- Artificial Intelligence & Hydrogen System Modeling – AI, machine learning, and digital twins for optimizing hydrogen production, storage, and distribution, as well as managing hydrogen-electricity networks.
- Hydrogen and Smart Infrastructures – Integration of hydrogen into smart cities and connected industries (smart grids, industrial IoT), renewable energy intermittency management, and intelligent storage solutions.
- Regulatory and Financing Aspects – Public policies, regulatory frameworks, and financing mechanisms driving hydrogen deployment (government strategies, subsidies, private investments, and innovative business models).
- Industrial Use Cases and Heavy-Duty Mobility – Pilot projects and real-world applications in energy-intensive industries: road and rail transport, maritime, steelmaking, chemicals, etc., showcasing hydrogen’s economic and environmental impact.
These themes are not exhaustive.
Any relevant topic providing a new perspective on hydrogen—whether technological, market-related, environmental, or international collaboration—will be carefully reviewed. We particularly value proposals that highlight technological innovation and real-world applications, whether in the form of a scientific breakthrough, product development, industrial project, or field case study.
A Balanced Program: Technical Depth & Accessibility
To engage a diverse audience, Hyvolution Canada 2025 will balance highly technical conferences with general sessions.
We encourage proposals that are either deeply technical or educational and accessible to non-specialists. Each submission should specify the technical level and target audience.
The program committee will curate a harmonized agenda that includes:
- Expert workshops
- Industrial case studies
- Strategic roundtable discussions
- General-interest presentations
This ensures that all attendees—from engineers to policymakers—benefit from the event.
Selection Criteria for Proposals
To ensure a high-quality program, all submissions will be reviewed based on rigorous and transparent criteria:
- Topic Relevance – Alignment with the event’s themes and significance to the hydrogen sector in 2025 (addresses a key challenge or industry need).
- Innovation and Originality – Presence of new or underexplored elements (recent research results, unique approach, first application in Canada, etc.), adding real value compared to the current state of the art.
- Clarity and Presentation Quality – Clearly defined objectives, structured presentation plan, and well-articulated ideas. Particular attention will be given to making complex concepts understandable while maintaining technical rigor.
- Potential Impact – Applicability and real-world benefits for industry and the community (practical examples, data-backed insights, actionable takeaways, and opportunities for collaboration).
- Speaker Credibility and Expertise – The speaker(s) must demonstrate recognized expertise and professional experience in the topic (background, projects, publications, etc.).
- Commercial Neutrality – Presentations must not be sales pitches or product promotions. Submissions should focus on informative and objective content rather than marketing.
Note: Early-career professionals (startups, young researchers, etc.) are encouraged to submit—content quality and originality will be the primary selection criteria.
Submission Guidelines
Please follow these instructions when submitting your conference proposal:
- Proposal Format – A 500-words abstract outlining the topic, key issues covered, and value proposition for attendees. It can be submitted in English or French, depending on the language of the presentation.
- Required Information – For each speaker, provide name, job title, organization, and a short bio (5–7 lines) highlighting relevant expertise and experience. Also include a compelling working title for your talk.
- Session Type – Specify the intended format—e.g.,
- Solo presentation (~20 minutes + 5 minutes Q&A)
- Roundtable discussion (multiple panelists)
- Case study presentation
- Interactive workshop
If your proposal fits a particular format (live demo, expert debate, etc.), please mention it. - Technical Requirements – Indicate if you require specific materials (videos, prototype demonstration, etc.) or have special technical needs.
- Submission Process – Complete the dedicated online form on the event website to submit your proposal (a direct link is available on the Call for Papers page for Hyvolution Canada 2025). Copy-paste your abstract and information and upload any necessary attachments.
- Submission Deadline – Proposals must be submitted by March 31, 2025. Late submissions will not be considered. A confirmation email will be sent upon submission.
- Selection Process – The program committee will review all submissions in April 2025. Applicants will be notified by mid-April 2025. Selected speakers will receive further instructions regarding scheduling, final presentation materials, and submission deadlines.
