Global trade in renewable and low-carbon hydrogen helps balance supply and demand, unlocking decarbonization and cost savings. Certification of this hydrogen is key for international cooperation, transparency, and consumer trust. Without aligned certification principles, the market risks fragmentation that could slow development. At COP28, 39 countries signed a Declaration for mutual recognition of certification schemes.
